
On 3 November 2025, the Leuven Peace Movement and KU Leuven will host an event on the devastating environmental and health consequences of war and military activities. The evening brings together international experts to address topics such as toxic contamination, the military’s role in the climate crisis, legal protection of the environment during conflict, and cases of war pollution victims.
Speakers include Manfred Mohr (ICBUW, IALANA), Stefania Divertito (investigative journalist), Dr. Angelika Claussen (IPPNW), Simon Sterck (Law Student), Srdan Aleksic (Lawyer) and Ria Verjauw (Leuven Peace Movement, ICBUW). The program features a documentary on NATO’s pollution in Sardinia, a musical performance, and concludes with a discussion and reception.
The event will be held in Leuven, Auditorium Zeger Van Hee, from 20:00–22:30, in English and Dutch.
