For the last few weeks the Conflict and Environment Observatory (CEOBS) have been working with PAX to prepare a statement to mark the United Nations ‚ International Day for preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict‚ on November 6th. This year it is focused on environmental security.
This year a group of concerned civil society organizations, experts and academics, put out a statement again during today’s International Day for preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.
All of us witnessed again in 2018 the importance of the role of the environment as wars and armed conflict left a trail of destruction and exacerbated existing environmental health problems. ICBUW is one of nearly fifty organizations who signed the call.
